  1. i like this ride its relaxed and i like the history.
5:47 i did something similar over winter … a country lane corner was flooded i thought id get through .. pedals went under water .. had at least 15 miles left to do !

  2. Dartmoor was once a forest, including tropical forests for millions of years and a largely wooded landscape in the Mesolithic period.

  3. Naturally, the first thing I thought of, seeing the ancient, barren, beautifully bleak landscape, was The Hound of the Baskervilles. If only Sherlock had owned an Orbea MTB 🚴‍♂️

  4. You got me on this one. I'm definitely a sucker for an old mine. When I was down in Cornwall last time I ended up at both the Geevor Tin (outside Penzance) and China Clay (near St. Austell) mine/museums. Both definitely worth a visit. I'll have to add Dartmoor to the list.

  5. A great ride in beautiful scenery, thanks Kit. Reminds me of the time that as part of our Marjons induction week we were taken pony trekking on Dartmoor just east of Princetown. Little health and safety in those days. In the briefing the guy said the only thing that will freak the ponies out are the army helicopters but quite rare here……. mmmmmm! Over a brow came this 'copter at about 100'. The whole group's ponies bolted with my friend's stirrup snapping. Chaos! Wonderful scenery. Hope you dried out! 😊

  6. I’d recommend taking a USB rechargeable pump in the car. With an adapter you can then quickly inflate your bike tyres and you’ve got it handy for the car tyres too (and footballs, inflatable mattresses, etc) 👍

  7. I've just subscribed, I pick up my first ever new bike this weekend it's a gravel bike I live on Dartmoor and looking forward to exploring. I was getting my fitness sorted on an old mtb but it died last weekend, the hills here are challenging lol. Great content.
