Looking to buy my boyfriend his first full suspension bike. Looks like I cut off the pricing, but the Precept is $1100, and Instinct is $2000. Both are over priced imo, and I would be offering lower. Looking for input on what bike would be more fun.
Also trails are pretty tight where we live, wondering if 29″ will be an issue for a newer rider.

Primarily riding trail
The Kona was already outdated when it was new, go for the RM
the Rocky mountain is awesome for 2000
Rocky for sure
The rocky
I don’t know much of either but it’s definitely a buyers market check fbm any price you see you can offer like 75% or less.
Also bring someone who knows how to check for cracks. Suspension etc
The Rocky Mountain would be my choice.
Definitely the RM, but I’d start my offer at more like $1000-1200.
Rocky, not even a close call. That Kona doesn’t even have a 1x drivetrain and the fork looks like trash.
The RM. He’s a lucky guy!
I’m biased but the Rocky is still good to go in 2023 and beyond. Add a -2 angleset when he outgrows it and off to the races – literally – if you like.
