Hey all, picked up a road bike a few months ago and have been riding since. After purchasing I brought it to a place for a quick tune up and one of the things he did was to bleed the brakes. However I’ve noticed a few things.

1, my left shifter is leaking some oil from (pictured) the little silver square under the grip. It ends up seeping through. What does this mean and how can I fix it?

2, on this same side shifter, it needs to be pulled back a lot further than the other side to start applying the brakes. Maybe related to the first?

And 3, I have this small piece of rubber that has come off my rear tire. The tires are still pretty new. They are tubeless. There is still rubber inside the hold. Does this need to be replaced?

Thank you!

So go back to the bike shop and tell them that your brake lines are leaking.. ***DO NOT RIDE THE BIKE.***

The oil is likely mineral oil from your disc brakes, the mineral oil that is leaking is being replaced by air… the air bubble is what is making your braking worse.

As far as the tire goes.. IDK… I’ve ridden tires with much worse … as long as you aren’t getting frequent flats I’d ride on.
