Sorry for a new post,
I have added an extra picture regarding the forks and I’m not sure if they are good because in the picture the top of the steerer looks rough and I’m not sure if they are good because it’s hasn’t one screw in top cap
It has the star but on top which I heard means it’s not as good as the modern ones?
Thinking of picking up these for my new trail bmx
I mean I’m not sure if it’s so bad for £95 but I need some opinions.
Thanks!

  1. Star nut is perfectly fine. These are USA made quality forks, S&m have been making some of the best forks in bmx for over 25 years. The whole star nut assembly is just for bearing pressure and adjustment it’s largely redundant after that, alloy top caps aren’t necessarily any better, and tbh in many ways are worse as they wear far easier.
Steerer tube looks largely fine, it’s only partial surface corrosion, to buy these forks now (if actually available as chrome is mostly done now in bmx ) they’d be £250….
