New member here and looking for advice.
I’ve been riding this Vortex since the
early/mid 2000. I love the feel of the bike and the Dura Ace 7700 group is still solid, as I’ve replaced cassette and chain ring with new old stock parts over the years.
My question is should I attempt a rebuild just keeping the frame? I realize the down side with disk brakes and thru hub wheels being the current tech and this frame being from a different time. Thanks for comments.

I just went down this road with a Ti Moots. I wanted to swap out all my old Campy with new Campy. In the end it would have been only a few hundred bucks less than buying new and getting Di2, disk, wider tires etc. I ended up selling the Moots and buying new. I love the new bike. Sometimes you can hold on too long.
I built up an older 90s serotta Colorado frame w/modern sram AXS components. Findings wheels was a challenge as modern 12s freehub versions of QR wheels is harder to come by. I think wheels are the hardest things to come by: lots of cheap crappy QR wheels or wheels that I couldn’t swap the freehub to what I needed. The other “issue” is being limited to tire sizes; older frames were built for 23mm tires and I caught the bug borrowing a bike with 30mm slicks. I ended up buying a AC zig zag to get the steel frame that I wanted and clearance for larger tires. The serotta sits now and will go up for sale, as soon as it gets a tune up. Just my experience w/older frames.
