My bike has been feeling slow and heavy on the climbs, could this be a result of that? New wheels were put on a few months ago and it's been doing this ever since I got it back from the shop. (Ignore the chicken lol)
I’m not a pro or anything, but I would think that the cranks spinning easily like that would mean that there is so little friction on the bottom bracket that they spin that freely.

It’s the friction in the free hub. Better check it. Disassemble, clean it, inspect it, grease it, reassemble it if there is no noticeable wear. If you can see signs of wear, replace it.
Failure can come very surprising, and then it could be fatal to your drive train, and the ride is over

I dunno why but this post is making me laugh for some reason 😂

Have your seat stays been self clearanced by tire rub, or did they come factory with the notches?

your hub requires a chicken replacement… that sound means a chicken in a hub is already worn out…

When you are climbing your hub is engaged almost the entire time, so there is little coasting. This would not affect your climbing ability in any way. I would bet your feeling sluggish on the climbs because you have a fat DHR on there. They are not known to be the fastest rear tire around……

Is a rear hug just another name for a struggle cuddle?

Don’t know but a hub that sounds like a chicken needs inspection. I’d take it to a local mechanic.

Rear hugs are nice!

Service the freehub and when you have it all apart check the bearings.

Looks more like the front hub
The chicken needs fresh batteries.
