I'm trying to determine which bike would be a better gravel option?
Currently the Salsa is on sale for $999 Best Adventure Bike – Salsa Journeyer Sora 700c – Salsa Cycles
While the State looks like MSRP is $999 4130 All-Road – Dromedary Tan (12 Speed / UDH) – 700c or 650b | State Bicycle Co.
The main difference appears to be the heaver steel frame on the State vs aluminum w/ a carbon fork on the Salsa.
The new State also has hydraulic disk brakes while the Salsa is mechanical disk brakes. The Salsa is also a 2×9 while the State is a 1×12.
Which bike would be better for a mix of paved paths and gravel roads/mild single track?
