Hownsgill Viaduct is a 54m high viaduct on the Waskerley Way just before (or after) Consett in County Durham, UK.
The viaduct is on the C2C cycle path known as Waskerley Way near Consett, and is a former railway bridge and can be seen as you drive South along the A68 just as you drop down into Allensford before Castleside.
I have driven this route lots of times and always wanted to walk across the viaduct. Unfortunately it was a windy day so I wasn’t able to put my drone up to take arial shots of the viaduct, but please do come along as I walk to the viaduct itself. We also take in the Terris Novalis sculptures on route as well.
