Figured out a relatively cheap way to make a wheelset hanger, then all you need is a stud.
IKEA SANDSHULT shelf brackets are sub $5 and the hooks are usually $.50 ish max. I had the wooden dowels but those can be bought at most hardware stores in bulk for dirt cheap.

The brackets are solid, with an insert for easier/more secure install.
At first I thought you were gonna hang your bike on that, then saw “wheelset”. Phew
