Bleed the air out of your fork and see what it’s like with no air in there. Fill it up slowly and stop and cycle the fork a few times (like put 25% of your psi in there and push on it a few times). Do this until you’re at your normal pressure.

Is the knock sound on the way down or when the fork tops out after rebounding?

  2. How long did it take the shop to get parts and swap frames? Maybe there was a mix up with a warranty fork?

  3. I have the same bike and got the warranty frame last summer. The Manitou Circus Expert on mine looks to be the same as yours, but I’m not getting the top out. The first thing I would try is bleeding the air as another redditor mentioned. Are you able to tell if the dealer changed the travel on the fork when you had the warranty frame built up? I wonder if maybe they screwed something up with the damper?

I responded about this in your chain tension post and now that I see this video, I’ll tell you this is almost-certainly _not_ a simple oil weight issue or an adjuster that’s wide open. I’ve now gone and looked at the service instructions for your fork and the rebound damper is open bath (not cartridge) and if it’s topping-out this hard, it suggests the fork is short on oil or (if it’s been taken apart) incorrectly assembled.
