I ordered shimano quick link sold from a bulk source and I think they might have sent me 2 clips from the same side?
I tried looking online and couldn't find any photos of the other link – only the "main" face link photos, and not sure if the 2nd one isn't supposed to be blank or have a reversed arrow direction? The ones I got, if you try to connect them, the arrows ends up pointing in opposing directions

see that arrow? take it from there from looking at it from your chainring side
Install while you are on the drive side of the bike, ignore the arrow you can’t see

The arrow on the back is for when your pedalling backwards 😅

Kind of besides what you’re asking, but i think your quick link might not be genuine Shimano. I bought a similar looking link from Aliexpress, and it does not perform like the real thing. It locks in place very loosely, and measures slightly wider than the rest of the chain. There are some differences like the font, and also machining around the edges. I still keep it in my saddlebag for emergencies, but would not keep it on my chain as a permanent solution. I imagine it can cause increased drivetrain wear, and also the loose fit is a concern.

On the left is the fake one, on the right is what i got with my genuine Shimano chain.
Might work perfectly fine for you, but thought it was worth a mention.
Was the arrow not a clue?
