You can use it full time. The “disadvantage” of such a TA is that it has the nubs that stick out on either side to make it compatible with wheel-on bike trainer clamps designed to pinch QR nubs. If those don’t bother you, I’d suggest keeping it on full time as anything which complicates switching a bike on/off the trainer tends to disincentivize riding.
