So I’m in Canada, trying to find some decent affordable cycling pants. I know the go-to suggestion is wrangler ATG joggers, which are available on Amazon.ca for about C$50. I’m casually trying to avoid using Amazon, and found these:

That are about the same price after sale. I’m just wondering if anyone has experience with these, if knee pads fit under them decently well. They have most the same features, but seem to be a little bit lighter-weight, which I’m not opposed to because I can overheat, as long as they are not too fragile.

Decathlon jogger style pants from the hiking section. Try them on in store because they fit weird (Asian or Euro sizes).

Or any other “hiking pant” that’s a jogger style will work fine. Hiking pants are just as durable as the full price, lightweight MTB pants anyway.

None of them will be as durable as the more expensive specific moto/MTB cordura or burly abrasion resistant nylon, but that’s always the price paid for cheap pants.

Andean trail mtb pants. I love em. They are on sale still i think. $55. Fit really well.

Get the Akta Trail pants. They’re the only ones I use, they are a Canadian Company (support 🇨🇦), the pants fit great. They’re worth it. Ratcheting belt, zipper, elastic waistband, and a d30 pocket for my phone. They regularly go on sale on their site. I’d recommend the extra few bucks.

  4. I got TLD MX/MTB pants on a motorcycle closeout website about a year ago. They were 40 USD.

I’d take 1 pair of expensive riding pants over 4 cheap ones. Nf is the way to go and Canadian.
