  1. Nah, my shops look pristine. I’d be scared that those bikes would all be stolen if I walked into a place and it looked like that

  2. I’ve been to several used and community bike shops that look like this. Madison, Wisconsin has several.

  3. Not quite on that level but a place I visited recently was similar. Some places have a lot more bikes than they have space to store them. Which sucks cause it makes it very difficult to view the bikes.

No, they look like a regular shop with a lot of bicycle and the fixing area is usually only a small part of it unfortunately.

This kind of shop looks like it would have more experienced workers in there.

  5. Whoa, yours has indoor storage for customer bikes!? Mine just locked them up outside and covers them with a tarp when it’s going to rain. Wouldn’t trade them for the world.

I’ve been to plenty of bike shops- sales, and plenty of bike shops – service. But no bike shops – storage unit/ stash pile!

The bike shop I worked at years ago had the customer bikes all nicely organized. And in the basement the owner had an incredible stash of old bikes, there were quite a few cool ones but there were also just a ton of random old stuff cause he could part with a bike. Also some were just cheap bikes that people would donate, we’d get them functional and if someone came in that was down on their luck the boss would sell it to them for whatever we had in it for parts. He was always good about helping folks out who needed it.
