My beloved Jamis Commuter 1 was stolen and I’m looking to purchase a new bike ASAP. For now I want to stay under $500 so I’ll likely purchase a used bike. I’m looking at the Jamis Coda Sport for $350 (photo attached) OR a Nishiki Century for $150 although I’d need to buy new grip tape and a new saddle so it would probably end up around $250 anyways. I didn’t take a photo of that. I also rode this Pure Cycles ($350, photo attached) which is fixed gear – something I’ve never tried before but could be into. I would be using it for a short commute to work and riding around town.
I liked both the Nishiki and Jamis as far as comfort although prefer the gear shifting on the handlebar on the Jamis! But I’m nervous that the Jamis is overpriced with the dents and chips in the paint… welcome any and all thoughts!
