I have the aero bars but no gear groove so wondering if you all have any suggestions for how to mount the phone? Not sure if some of these ‘universal’ mounts with the rubber bands will work on the shape of the stem

Quad Lock is just the best solution out there, and they have flat bar adaptors.
That being said, I wouldn’t recommend using your phone as a bike computer, mainly because on longer rides your battery will likely not be enough, and possible damage in the event of a crash.
