Rode another 6 miles with a snapped (but somehow functional) rear shifter and a wobbly rim.
Throw away your car, they take too much damage.

i’ve been thinking recently it’s insane how much cars cost and how little they are capable of….car got towed for a broken door, you proceeded to bike several more miles with a broken bike. bikes can hop curbs; hit the curb wrong in your car and lose a tire or an axle. travel any route you want on your bike; take your car and you can only drive specific ways to places and also you need a parking spot when you get there. etc. cars have their uses but man….just not as cool.
anyway hope you aren’t injured and you’re able to repair your bike soon! must have been quite scary!!

If you are paying for the tow it’s possible to climb over from the passenger’s seat and drive it that way. In this case though, I’m sure the problem was that some idiot crashed into you and his insurance got charged for it.

Well done in hitting the door and not trying to dodge it. The reason why there are so many dooring casualties is because people’s first reaction is dodging by going into traffic and then a moving vehicle hits them.
