I have recently purchased a second hand bike and can’t tell if the rear shock is blown? Would anybody be able to help? As you can hear by the video it makes a bit of a squelching noise. Do I need a new shock or a service?
Sounds like aeration in the oil. Sometimes called cavitation but let’s not go there. It should be rebuilt. Not impossible to do at home, but some LBSs can do it otherwise you can send it somewhere for around $150. They will disassemble, replace the seals, and rebuild with fresh oil and nitrogen to keep this from happening again.

The Rear shock is a Fox DPX2.
A rebuild will make that good as new again.
