Most of the route is along the trackbed of the former horse drawn Plymouth and Dartmoor Railway which is now a cycle path. The 1590s built water conduit called Drake’s Leat or Plymouth Leat is to the right of the cycle path, with Devonport Leat (1790s), which we cross near the end, to the left.
