I have an old 1986 Schwinn Sprint I’ve been fixing up for the Spring. It uses 27×1-1/4” wheels.

So i replaced the inner tube and installed a new tire. both the tube and tire are for Femco 27×1-1/4” rims.

For some reason, my pump is getting ALOT of resistance around the 30-40psi mark. To the point where I already had a tube blow out at around 50.

I can’t for the life of me figure out why I can’t inflate them to the recommended 70psi.

I’ve reseated the tire over 5 times now using different techniques and nothing is helping. My pump gauge seems to be accurate (I checked against a manual gauge), and the sizes are all correct from what I can tell.

The only thing I can think of is maybe the new tire is too thick for the rim? idk i’m close to giving up
