After riding through the epic SH20, I cross into Montenegro, and it’s time to find a place for the night. Scrolling through Booking, I spot what seems like the perfect stay—a remote spot near a stunning national park. Sounds great, right?
But there’s a catch… When I arrived at the park gate, a local warned me: an off-road mountain trail is the only way to get there. My F650GS isn’t set up for off-road. I’m fully loaded with hard panniers, the sun is setting, and I´ve already been on the road for many hours. Turning back isn’t an option—I have to push forward and see if my bike (and my skills) can handle the climb.
Will I make it without dropping the bike? And more importantly, how do I keep ending up in these situations? This ride made me realize I need a better navigation system.
