I’m from the UK and it’s pretty normal to be cautious about your bike getting stolen as one of my close friend’s bike got stolen within 23hours of purchasing it.
I got the Apple AirTag for my bike so that I could focus on my work with a relief but I don’t know where to put it on the bike. Can anyone recommend where I can I put my AirTag and any other recommendations to keep my bike safe from getting stolen.

Keep it indoors when you’re not riding.
Oh man it won’t be long and you will treat that thing like a middle child 😂. I know the feeling though. I got my first expensive for me bike this year. Definitely have to get myself a lock.
Get it registered, insured, store it indoors, get a proper lock. if you still want to store it outdoors, remove the quick release from wheels. For the Airtag, you can put it in a plastic water bottle, or you stick it on your saddle
I 3D a mount for my AirTag that connects to the saddle rails. It’s very hard to see.
Insurance is the best way to go. For the AirTag, google “AirTag bottle holder – bell – seat holder” and more.
There is even a tubeless setup by MucOff.
Never stop riding so thieves can’t catch you
Insure it
Yeah i never get out of sight from mine. Ever. If i stop at a store and they dont let me roll my bike in with me i take my business elsewhere
Get yourself an orbit velo. It mounts underneath your water bottle cage.
After having two bikes stolen, I’ve concluded that I don’t need a bike lock. When I’m not riding, the bike is either stored in our apartment or inside my office at work. If I stop by a grocery store on my way home, I simply take it with me through the store.
Easy solution: always minimum 1 hand on it or store it indoor safely
I’m have a holder that replaces the top cap of the fork. You probably wouldn’t know it was there without really closely looking at it.
Don’t keep it out of site. If I ride to work, I park it inside the office. At home it lives inside my apartment. When I stop for coffee mid ride, it’s within my eyesight.
And definitely don’t leave it outside overnight.
Insure if you’re ok with paying or don’t buy a lock and never leave it outside.
An AirTag isn’t going to stop it being stolen.
That’s normal to be worried. Keep it indoors or where you can see it and you can reach it quickly even though it’s locked. Otherwise don’t go shopping etc with the bike. There’s no solution to robbers unfortunately. We just need to lower the opportunities for them..
Either treat it like shit and put stickers on it and let it get scratches all over. Basically ride it like you stole it for a while and then no one will steal it from you. Make it unstealable basically. If the drivetrain is in good condition it’s all fine.
You could also store your bike indoors, Im a teacher and when I ride my fancy road bike to work I park it in the classroom. Never leave it out of sight.
Never ever EVER leave it out of your sight. Store it in your house/flat/whatever, don’t leave it parked anywhere.
Just don’t leave it anywhere. You live in the UK, so you still might be robbed at knife point.
Never leave your bike where you wouldn’t leave a child.
Get the most impenetrable bike lock on the market

And if you lock it, lock the frame to something. Had my bike stolen, they did just carry it away while locked. Next week did see same bike with 26 front wheel without brakes, and whole bike + components painted flat black. Lol. Insurance covered it, so could get new bike in few weeks.
I’ve never had any issues with mine being taken, but for what it might be worth, I keep an AirTag tucked back into a small pocket of my saddlebag
You should be scared. People kick in doors and pull out angle grinders to get a bike like that 😍
It’s a nice looking bike but pretty inconspicuous. When I lock up I try to keep my bike in eye shot or not leave it for too long. Choosing a lock up spot can be key as well. Good luck!
Get a Hiplok D1000 lock, at least it’s a pain in the arse to use an angle grinder through it
I found that my seat tube is just wide enough for the air tag to fit inside. So i put one on the bottom of my seat seat tube where it will never be seen.
Check out Knog Scout. I got one on my bike.
lol im not cautious, I have common sense. Don’t buy a bike that you value and use a £5 lock. And don’t leave it unattended if you don’t have to.
On the very rare occasion I have to leave any of my bikes, I use a Hiplock D1000 and a steel cable. Yeah it’s £230 for a bike lock. But it’s cheaper than a new bike.
Sure they can cut the thing the bike is attached to, but they’ll have made enough noise before they figure that out.
But yeah, just never leave it out of sight..
Don’t leave it outside unattended and you should be fine.
Just lock it, keep it in the basement
