Since the Xpel film won’t stick to the G-Line paint, I thought I’d try something else. I already had a roll of gaffer’s tape, so I gave it a try. It sticks very well, and has enough stretch to go around slightly curved surfaces.
The tape is cloth based, so won’t stand up to lots of weather, but since I don’t usually ride in the rain, it should be OK. Only time will tell how long it will stay put.
The tape is black, with a matte texture, so doesn’t look too bad. A matte clear film would be preferred, but until I find such a film that sticks, this will do. If I’d had a forest green gaffers tape, it would hardly be noticeable, but black is what I had.
