Dan, you don't need e-bikes to do such a gravel bike ride. You just need to get rid of the idea that you are "old".
Just brought a e mountain bike I’ve had 2 abulations and my health got worse it an absolute game changer I’m able to participate again with the knowledge no matter if my heart has fit I can get home

its' always interesting watching road bike people talk about tyres.
dan is clearly in the C after the width camp with a 45C while others will say 700c x 45. where as 622 x 45 would be corrrect, very few road riders ride the actual 700c spec of tyre, although a 622x37mm tyre comes pretty close to that spec

I agree e-bikes are great for all the reasons you mentioned in this video. That said, I can’t stand being overtaken by other cyclists, especially by e-bikes, and it’s even worse when they kindly greet me in the process. The competitive instinct just kicks in! But hey, that’s my problem, and I’m fully aware of it.
