I finally splurged and got a 1up Quikrack to celebrate being able to finally do after work rides again thanks to DST.
I previously had a Thule t2 a while ago that I sold because it was just way too bulky to store and blocked my backup camera when it was folded on the car. I have got to say, I am blown away at how well designed this 1up rack is! It folds down and can easily be stored on a garage shelf when not in use but most importantly, it is so small and unobtrusive that I will just leave it on the car most of the time.
I could not for the life of me find one of these used for the past few weeks so I bit the bullet and bought one new. That is crazy to me since apart from helmets almost every single piece of bike or bike gear I have, was purchased used. I think it's telling given that more than half the cars at the trailheads have 1up racks but I almost never see them for sale secondhand.
We will see how it holds up, so far I am stoked and hopefully it will make these after work rides a bit more time efficient.

My single hasn’t come off in over 3 years.
Great choice. Had mine for 4 years and love it.
I leave it on my car and run it as a single 95% of the time, then just bolt on the 2nd rack when I need it.
Takes all of 2 mins to add/remove the 2nd rack.
I’ve had mine for over 10 years and never a problem. I also have the add-on when needed. We got one for our daughter as well a couple years ago, she loves it. Get the wheel locks if you haven’t, I use those for when I’m on a roadtrip and have to stop at a rest area or something.
