Seriously any help or advice with this would be amazing. Bought before Christmas, and just started building for our daughter's birthday next month. But we just can't seem to fit the handle bar frame into the body of the bike. There is a minimum line we can't even get close to.
Nothing is blocking the way and my partner has used absolute brute strength to no avail. Any advice, hints or tips would really help prevent a mental breakdown of my partner!

Okay, now you’ve already got it, but please do not ever buy such a bike again. Those are the cheapest trash you can possibly get, with technology that nobody would even consider putting on a bike (plastic friction BB and so on). I had a customer tell me his daughter always cried because it was so hard to pedal but there was nothing we could do about that, even after pulling apart half of the bike.

How is the stem (the pink bit you can fit in) meant to be secured into the steerer (the bit you can’t get it into) when it does finally go in. Is that clamp meant to slide down over the top of the steerer?

To continue, it’s hard to say what’s wrong here, there are things that don’t look right around the stem and fork, but I really can’t tell how the manufacturer wants it to work, if even.
