My niece had this toy baby cart that broke. And when I saw it in the trash I immediately envisioned the potential. The rack is still a work in progress and the pieces are just loosely bolted to eachother for now. I spite of that, the thing is quite stiff and sturdy and I think I will be able to haul a decent amount of weight once all the screws are secured tightly with some nuts.
Question is, will this rack share the fate off most frontracks and and sit empty 98% percent of the time? Most likely but hey, it brings bonus hipster points.

  1. Ha, I have that same stroller and my kids constantly break it by ripping the cloth seat. Thanks for inspiration on how to repurpose it

  2. Great work! That’s how to up-cycle. I’m inspired.

Btw… You’re brakes and hoods are quite creative.

Edit: the more I look, the more I see. Interesting place for the thumbie. Were you able to swap out the flatbar with the same cables?

  3. Even if I’m not carrying my school stuff, or groceries, my basket is never empty since it holds my bike lock and a spare lamp

Wow, pretty sure I’ve never seen a brake lever setup like yours before! How do those barends feel on longer rides? Looks like it might be pretty comfy 🧐

If you wanted, you could braze these with a torch and some brazing wire. Then it would be legit

If it holds a six pack, a burrito, and rain gear it is priceless. This is a bike that gets ridden and I can appreciate it, but those pedals made me throw up in my mouth a little bit. The rest is perfect!
