Some years there’s an especially sweet spot in the winter AFTER the river freezes solid but BEFORE too much snow falls. The very best part of all is doing a nighttime ride under a full moon. This shot was taken with my helmet lamp on, but you can do the whole ride with no assistance at all. Once your eyes adjust, you might as well be riding in the daylight – except it’s an eerie, silvery sibling. I absolutely love it. Truly feeds the soul
