Yesterday I tripped on some concrete stairs while wearing my new cycling shoes and ended up scratching the carbon sole pretty badly. Once I got home I noticed that the top resin layer got chipped away in a couple small spots on the sole, exposing the bare carbon. Is this cause for concern, and can it be fixed at home?

Don’t worry about the little stuff, they’re shoes, this will happen eventually no matter what
If you are that worried, just apply some wood glue.
Clear nail varnish
Tools not jewels. Just ride them and don’t worry about cosmetic scuffs.
A bit of clear shoe goo
Dollar store epoxy applied with a toothpick.
Maybe there’s some clear sandable epoxy. If it’s not sandable, it won’t sand at all. Clear paint won’t hold up. Otherwise, just accept the wear and tear – super fresh matching kit makes you look like a noob / poser in any sport.
Bottom of the shoe?
Not structural?
Don’t sweat it.
Consider coating the bottom with silicone caulk, to protect from future dings. I put a 2-3mm layer on my Shimano road shoes. Added another 30ish grams, but 1) it gives me traction on most surfaces, and b) protects against dings like you’ve experienced.
They also make covers for Keo plates, and I think there are generic road shoe slip-on covers but I’ve never tried them.
2 part epoxy mixed with some charcoal dust/graphite for color.
You should see the bottom of my mtb shoes
I did carbon fiber mould work and we would use a clear uv cure resin and a beefy blacklight flashlight
Superglue!
A thin layer of epoxy will do.
