If they are brand new it might be because they are packed with thick grease instead of an oil… they should loosen up after a couple of rides. The more important thing is do they spin smoothly

I have those pedals and they don’t get much looser than that but why do you want them so loose anyways?

Brand new pedals have tight tolerances and they loosen slightly with wear. Spinning freely is not a hallmark of quality. Pedals don’t need to.
That’s probably cause they’re pedals, not fidget spinners.

I have the same pedals and they behave the same way. I don’t think that they have much if any effect on performance.

This is actually ideal, if your foot ever comes off, or you take your feet off intentionally, then the pedal remains in the same spot and you can quickly find it again

Buy cheap parts expect cheap part qualities.

Some of these cheap Amazon pedals have one ball bearing and one or two bushings. Good pedals typically have two or three ball bearings and spin much better.

Totally normal, they are all like that. You don’t want them to spin freely so you will find them at the exact same position when you put your feet back on it.

Some pedals are for better for tricks and such so as NOT to spin as freely so you’re aware the they’ll be in the same position they were when you took your foot off them for whatever reason.

Normal. But also dont expect to much from amazon specials

Don’t expect much from alibaba/aliexpress pedals sold on Amazon. Get some good quality ones, but the super free spinning is not really what you want.

If they use sealled ballbearings it could be excess of grease. If they use cup & cones bearings they could be too tight.

That’s because they are packed with fresh grease. That is a good thing. If they spin like a top the bearings probably need to be regreased.

They should spin easily, not freely
