That derailleur should work fine with a 7 or 8 speed cassette and chain.

Not a problem but it would look a LOT none if you found a Suntour V-GT with a long cage. Maybe you can make this derailleur work with a hanger extender from AliExpressÂ
Did it to replace an old Simplex deraileur that had impossible jokey wheels to find brand new, works nicely.
Friction shifting fixes everything, unless your shifter doesn’t cover all the gears.
It would work. Tourney TY300 works in friction mode with 6-10sp cassettes and 11-40t range, despite official stats. Pretty solid device for it’s price. Mine had 11k km milage and still wasn’t giving up
Not a problem, but please don’t put something so tragic on a bike like this. Get a V-GT Luxe, much higher quality and very available on eBay.
