Mercier Kilo GX T16 in chrome. – New bike build with better stuff from the parts bin and a splurge on brakes, tires and handlebars:
– TRP Hy/rd brakes cable actuated disc brakes
– vintage XTR FC-M960 crank (the kind where it is nearly impossible to find replacement chain rings… but it looks cool)
– LX Brake levers (I like the feel of these levers with the brakes even the brake pull is not supposed to work)
– Vintage Shimano downtube shifters modified to fit the thumbie adapters
– Schwalbe G-One Overland tires (set up to be tubeless)
– Soma Fabrication front rack.
– Liz Claybourne brown leather purse as tool / rack bag.
– Nitto B365 M's Bar (made for Blue Lug Japan)
– A 7-speed 13-42 cassette purchased from Soma Fabrication.
– Already broken Brooks B-17 saddle
– the bike came with an 8 speed Shimano Claris drivetrain. Shimano MT201 Hydraulic brakes, but it looked like a hassle to cut new brake hydraulic lines to fit the new swept back handlebars, hence the cable actuated TRPs).
– YES. It's a super fun ride
