Hi, I want to buy a second hand bmx but I’m afraid it’s too small, I’ve never own a bmx before so I don’t really know if it would fit me, I’m a 6’1 guy, I’m going to try the bike before buying but it’s kinda far away and don’t wanna waste my time or sellers time for a bike too small, worth mentioning that the bike is like 65$, the seller doesn’t know top tube dimensions but I think it’s a 20 inch top tube, wheels are 20 inch also, i need some advice, thank yall

This really isn’t a bmx, more a wallmart level play bike. Fittings show it had v-brakes, which aren’t a brake used by freestyle bmx, it’s a 1pc crankset and other basic parts. Now granted you’re not gonna get lot anyway for $65, so it’s priced for what it is, but it’s not gonna last long for proper bmx riding really.
It’s not a great quality. The cranks are one piece. You will blown them out pretty fast.
Also, if you do decide to ride this bike- for the love of all things inside your body GET BAR END PLUGS
crashing and falling on the end of your handlebars can literally skewer you like a kabob. 🍡
If you’re over 6 ft, you’re going to want a 21″+ top tube. 20 wheels are normal. The cranks on this are shit, likely as is the rest of it. I’d recommend keeping your eye out for something better suited to your size and maybe spending a bit more money. Also, as a beginner, you’re probably going to appreciate having brakes, the cost of adding those would push this bike closer to $100+, even then they type of brakes the frame is made for are not ideal for freestyle bmx.
Pass. Find something with three piece cranks and a brand name. This could be anything but most likely low quality and too small. I’ve been burned buying a “custom” bike before, it was a free agent with a volume sticker.
