I got carbon wheels a year ago and asked the mechanic to fit them. They are tubeless ready but i've just had tubes in since getting. I've had more punctures than historically over the last year and noticed he never put rim tape in. This sounds like a dumb question now I'm typing but should they have rim tape in if I'm running tubes?

If you look very closely rim tape actually appears to be present.
Rim tape is needed to cover spoke holes, which you don’t have. If you went tubeless, I think your flat issues would disappear.
