Epic 330km Cycling Adventure: From Anglesey to Barry, Wales
See the route here : https://www.strava.com/activities/9907571864
Join me on my unforgettable one-day ride over threw rugged Welsh terrain . Starting from the remote northern tip of Anglesey to the busy and vibrant coast of Barry.
This was a cycling challenge with over 4000m of elevation gain through darkness, rain, sheep-filled paths and moment of pure exhaustion.
I managed to raise over Β£1400 for Jig-So a local children’s charity and the the support from the donators really helped push me towards the end.

Are you related to Jethro Jessop?
There is an audax called the Brian Chapman that effectively does it the other way round, south to north and back again 640k. Done it several times, cracking ride.
Myself and two pals did Prestatyn to Cardiff a few years ago. 301 kms in just under 12 hours. Great ride
Well done! I cycled NCN Route 8 recently over 6 days. Took it easy. Respect to you!
Bloody hell, that is one hell of a ride, a fantastic achievement. Kudos sir.
Great effort, thanks for sharing, chapeau
You mean you cycled south from north Wales ?
Great ride, fantastic achievement. Actually planning to do this the other way next year – South > North
Epic ride, especially with all that climbing. I did 204 miles last June, but with no where near as much climbing. However, i did it on one of the hottest days of early summer in 28 degree heat which was a big mistake. I averaged 17.1 mph, it took me 15 hours in total with all the breaks to try and cool down and get out of the sun. I can't imagine doing all that climbing.
couldnβt resist the urge to be the 100th subscriber π
Great ride…you deserve a thumbs up and a comment for that effort π΄πͺ
Great effort. I know what you mean about the crying. I did a hilly 100 miler in Cornwall which I soon found out I was not fully prepared for. I was pedalling squares. Just had to focus on the next pedal revolution.
Impressive effort and appreciate you sharing the mental pain and how you overcame it. Kudos !
I'm glad you said mostly on the road! Because the route I know from N to S Wales is 9000m of elevation, you certainly wouldn't have done this in a day! π
Well done though! βοΈ
Brevet Cymru 400km, Bryan Chapman Memorial ride 600km or All Points North 1000km next year will get you ready for LEL.
Well done, glad the weather held up for you. The mental fortitude you showed was epic. When I'm on longer rides I like some company to help keep me going.
Fair play great achievement.Good to hear what struggles you had to contend with
Sick π
Absolutely brilliant video my friend!! What an achievement. ππ
Well done, I can imagine how you were feeling at the end.Once when I was 15 I did about 200Km in a day going on a 6o mile ride with my friends CTC group which started 30 miles from my home.Took me days to recover.
well done!
Massive respect. That pain is all worth it
