So im building a xc sort of style of bike with a mosso falcon xct frame and a 120mm rockshox fork but when my bike shop contacted me they said they only have 140mm rockshox recon silver available for order and you gotta choose quickly since they were ordering the parts. And in the moment i didnt think and just said sure to the fork but now im wondering if there will be any problems with my frame or even safety while riding because my frame is a XC frame and i cant find the specs for the max fork size online anywhere. If it helps my frame is made out of aluminum 7075 (slightly stronger than regular aluminum 6061)

Frame material doesnt matter. Bike geometry does.
Dont think of it as “maximum fork size”. You should be taking into account fork rake and effective crown to axle length.
These measurements will affect your body position on the bike and BB clearance to the ground.
Example: imagine riding a horse with stilts on its front legs only. You will be pitched back over the center of gravity and awkward at the slightest terrain or elevation change
Check with your local service centre, but there’s a reasonable chance they can be adjusted down to 120mm
I had to look up your frame because you said it was 7075. It’s 7005.
7075 is very difficult to weld without it cracking, and I wasn’t sure that anyone was commercially doing it yet (there is a method, but its still pretty experimental at this point).
It would have been really cool if it was 7075.
To echo the other guy, it’ll effect your geometry by raising the bb, slackening the head and seat tubes, reduce your reach a little. it’ll be less XC for sure.
I wouldn’t worry too much about it effecting it structurally.
