I’ve been building my bikepacking rig bit by bit in preparation for a long trip with my partner, and latest has been a sort of crash-slash-content cam mount.
It’s a male-female Garmin half turn adapter with a GoPro adapter sandwiched in the middle.
Not finished iterating yet- I’ve wrapped my bits in rubber, so I’ll hit the gravel this weekend and stress test it..
What do you think? Is this a crazy cockpit? I’m interested in printing more mounts e.g. for the fork to get different angles and make the bike hot-swappable like my camera gear is…

I used something similar to this a while back. It would break on me every 100-120 miles. Hopefully your mount is a bit stronger than mine was, but I would recommend you inspect it for cracks before/after each ride. I had to turn around to grab my GoPro off the trail a few times.
It’s gonna fail at some point.
Source: it happened to me. Have a fun video to remember the occasion. The camera still works though…
(It failed while going over some cobblestones)
Print it in TPU. It will never break.
Make sure to tether the electronics while testing! All that weight and eventually something will crack especially bikepacking. I would spread the weight out.
1. That’s a LOT of weight for a single attachment point. I wouldn’t trust it not to fail. Because it will fail.
2. That light is angled too far downward to adequately illuminate the road in front of you.
You would be much better off attaching only the camera under the bike computer and attaching the headlight separately to your bars, or just using the camera during the day and the light at night. It won’t work with both. You’re not going to get good footage in the dark anyway.
I love it. I use the same camera and bike computer but with an Ortlieb Handlebar-Pack plus. Stem cap mount for the Garmin, separate mount for the camera but it takes up so much handlebar space. Would love something similar that could come from the stem cap/stem.
Very creative solution!
