Guy is selling this for $40, catch is the bottom bracket is stuck.
The guy says he’s tried penetrant and a BB tool on a breaker bar. Also tried using an impact driver. I’m still kind of new to older bikes so I haven’t really dealt with this before. Do you think there’s more I could do to get it out or should I just pass on the offer?

Could try to heat the bb shell while simultaneously trying to loosen it with the bb tool+breaker bar. Problem is ruining the paint… That’s all I’ve got.
You can put a bolt through the spindle to hold a bottom bracket tool tight against the cup and break it free.

Looks like that side of the bb the splines are stripped. Looks to be a plastic “cup” tho. If the other side isn’t stripped then there’s still hope for getting it out. 40 bucks isn’t the worst deal to lose 40 bucks on tho. If the frame is your size and you have the tools it’s worth a shot
Personally I’d not bother as I could find a full stock hardrock for not much more money without a stuck BB. If it’s your size and you’re really in love with the colour and are specifically after a hardrock it might be worth the risk.
Hit it with a hammer to break the threads in very extreme cases. it has worked for me.
What kind of impact? Like if I couldn’t get out with my 110v electric impact, I would want anything to do with it.
I’d say for $40 it’s worth the gamble. And maybe the current owner is turning it the wrong way…….
Soak it down the seat tube all day. Bolt the bb tool to the cup. Put the bb tool in a bench vise and spin the whole frame instead. Built in leverage. Usually always mostly works. Torch it as well.
