Sooo, I snapped a spoke and trashed the rear wheel on my bike. Spoke beds in the rim were all cracked. It was due a service anyway, so I had a local mechanic sort it for me, which left me without a bike for a couple of days. ðŸ˜
That got me thinking, I really should have a spare bike for times like this (yeah, I know, first world problems…)
So I picked up a Specialized Hardrock, a 1998 model I believe. In really great condition for its age. This will leave me with a spare bike, but also scratch the itch of building a retro beach cruiser style MTB. Got some moustache bars, sprung saddle, Fat Frank tan/whitewall tyres on order. It'll need to be a 1x conversion and lose the grip shifts…
