based on the shape and the position of the crack i’d say it’s probably a crack in the welding under the paint that caused the crack in the paint

Best thing is get some sand paper to it and see if it goes away with the paint or it’s a visible crack in the weld

Your friend should be contacting dosnoventa’s customer service. Usually paint doesn’t crack by itself, so it is very possible there is a small crack underneath or some sort of defect in the weld. Unfortunately the only way to safely evaluate frame integrity is either by removing the paint or by having it x-rayed.
