Bought a 1997 Cannondale R400 – what do you think?
Hey everyone, I picked up this 1997 Cannondale R400 on eBay and wanted to hear your thoughts! The previous owner originally bought it in the USA back in 1997. My plan is to replace the tires, rewrap the bar tape, and redo the cables and shifting. I’ll also give it a proper cleanup, oil everything, and maybe use a touch-up paint pen to fix the chipped paint.
Not sure yet if I’ll keep it and ride it myself or see if I can make a little money off it. What do you guys think? Worth the effort?

what a nice pick up for 100 bucks! I would definitely ride that and enjoy it a bit before trying to sell it lol
Hey man.. $100 is a $100. Hard to find any bike for that cost in good condition.
I cant make out the groupset.. is that exage?
Clean it up and ride it. It will be stiff as a board (aluminum frame) but will get you from point A to B.
I had this almost identical bike as my first road bike way back when. The aluminum was insanely stiff and I felt every single road imperfection in my a**. Plus that weird rear dropout was incredibly sketchy for out of the saddle sprints. But ride it, enjoy it, and save up for something nicer down the line.
