It does weigh about 18kg (39lb) but will get me around 150km (93 miles) in one charge if I’m in Eco Mode.
Probably less with more weight on though.

I think your last sentence is the most important, where to recharge, that’s all that counts.
If you’re going to hang bags on it, you’ll get nowhere near that far per charge.
You would need to charge it and secure it at the same time. Can’t just leave it in the comfort station overnight.
You’re probably better off with a motorcycle if this seems like a viable option for you.
