Currently I’m running a 175mm Fox Transfer and it’s already at the frame’s minimum seatpost insertion depth.
At the lowest position it’s fine, I’m just concerned about the seat height at max extension.

I’m wondering if I should go for a 240mm dropper which will allow me to raise the seat a bit more.

You guys think I will benefit from a longer dropper post?

I went with a 210 on my ibis and I don’t regret it. If you have the spare cash, get it!

This looks all off to me. Is the bike too small? Are the cranks too short? Maybe I’m wrong.

  3. you need a bigger frame size all together, a taller dropper is not the solution here

Bike too small. That’s just classic Cube, you need XXL if they have it (Santa Cruz has, don’t know who else) generally their bikes are always kinda short. There are seatposts available up to 240mm from OneUp for example

  5. Longer dropper posts are always welcome. I always run the longest dropper possible, and won’t buy a bike where I can’t run at least 200mm dropper. 240mm feels even better though.

  6. How tall are you, 6 ft 6 or something? Bike looks tiny on you, for sure a longer dropper would be a good idea but maybe a bigger bike too?

Bigger bike, you’ll put too much stress on a bigger post. Not too mention your reach over the top tube.

The bike is a XXL 29” with 510mm of reach and 50mm stem. They don’t really make them much bigger than this unfortunately 🙁

I’m 6’9” so pretty much any bike will look small

  9. I see everybody is saying he needs a bigger bike, but can anyone can provide the spec of a bigger bike and actually compare that to his current bike ? As a 6’6 guy, I am also interested.

You’d think spending all that money on that hog, you’d know the answer

  11. Other than finding a bigger bike which I’m sure is challenging at 6’9″. It does look like a longer seatpost is needed. Your knees still look too bent when the pedals are at 6 o’clock (low point in the rotation). This could lead to knee pain down the road, but it’s also inefficient when delivering power.
