(Picture of my bike for attention)
I have just purchased some plastic pegs (cult butter). I’ve only ever used metal pegs as when I was a teen that’s what was common. I returned to bmx last year after a rather long hiatus and plastic pegs seem to be more common now.
I like metal pegs, I like the noise o haven’t had an issues with them aside from them turning oval. I enjoy the noise and don’t know anything different. The main reason I got plastic pegs was that I managed to get four for less than the retail price of 2.
I wanted to know what the general consensus is, why are plastic pegs more common now, pros and cons of them etc. what do you prefer to ride and why?

I run cult butter pegs 4.5 and they are fantastic. Seriously the best pegs I’ve run so far. Literally grind on everything wax or no wax
Plastic pros:
Slide on any surface,
Slide fast,
can’t get berated about damaging parks/street spots
Cons:
Sleeves don’t last so cost more than steel long term,
No cool sounds
