016 This week we take a little tour of the community that surrounds us. Lake Saint Pardoux is a beautiful area that offers many outdoor recreational activities. Camping, mountain biking, hiking, sailing, boating, fishing… it’s all there, near us! We are so excited to enjoy the summers here in out french stone house.

Special thanks to Flow Productions for the use of some the their drone video. You can find the entire video here:

And we dine at a spectacular restaurant in Limoges:

Thanks again for watching,

Description of Us:
We are a couple of American Francophiles who have come to truly appreciate so many things about French culture. We love the food, wine, art, and history of France, but especially the people we have met along the way. Join us as we make our dream of living in France a reality. Follow us as we explore the French house-buying process – living, owning, and navigating a new life there with our beloved dog, Bernice. We enjoy learning about stone house renovation, wine, cooking, brocante shopping, and the French community we are now a part of.

  1. Thanks for showing your beautiful hamlet, lake and countryside. The restaurant looked quite special surrounded by cloisters. You've found a lovely part of France to enjoy.

  2. I am really enjoying your vlog. How exciting it must be, to have purchased such a beautiful home in France. I wish you many blessings as you settle into your new environment.
I thought to mention that I don’t always hear what you are saying. Bonne fin de semaine!

  3. Great location! I guess it'll be busy in summer but with such a large lake there'll be plenty of "secret nooks & cranies" for private space. Prepare the picnic basket & rug. 🚴🚴
I spotted a couple of trail markings (white and blue) at 1:54 on the street post in your hamlet. Usually this shows colours for 2 different trails / footpaths, you can just follow the colour marks to discover the trail, or you could ask at the Marie (or look at their website under "randonées") to find more info for all the hiking & biking trails in your area, and more.
There's also an application specific for hikers, very usefull as it shows a more detailed scale than the google maps. I'll let you know tomorrow which one, as I have to ask my sister about it, she's the techy navigator. I still use paper maps.

  4. Très tranquille petit coin de paradis. Vous êtes chanceux d'être tombé dessus par hasard. Belle nouvelle vie en France.
