Been riding this Miyata 512 for a few weeks, just hit about 200 miles. Found at a local thrift shop for 25 bucks had a bunch of motorish looking oil all over it, like it was in a garage and had been oversprayed on accident or something. Frame is in near perfect condition. Had a cheapo carbon saddle laying around and threw it on, cleaned it up, got some new perishables on there and good to rock. Definitely an under rated ride. Signed up for a triathlon early next year, and this will be my steed.
Bonus was that they had a pristine 83 Schwinn World that honestly looks brand new. Like someone bought it and threw it in a garage. Bought it for 25 bucks as well and promised it to a friend after new tires and tubes. Also had oil all over it. Just needs some decals.
I’ve gone through all the Miyata catalogs, and cannot find this color scheme (Or I missed it totally). Can’t find pics online either of this specific color.

Wow. Awesome find. Congrats. Great frames 512 is a mid level road bike. Weekend racer even. Looks to be 85 to 87. Worth 20 times that at least
