I’ve been trying to find good quality brakes for this bike with 700 x 38c tyres. Normal calipers won’t have enough clearance so tried the ones in the picture ([Alhonga Quick Release Alloy Rear Brake Caliper Road Town Bike 55mm-80m](https://bankruptbikeparts.co.uk/products/alhonga-quick-release-alloy-rear-brake-caliper-road-town-bike-55mm-80mm-approx?currency=GBP&variant=43611068989676&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=Google%20Shopping&stkn=d2e59dcbdd35&gad_source=1)). However, their braking power is very poor. So I’m wondering if there is an issue with short/long pull brake-levers combination… What would be the best kind of brakes for this bike with good clearance and briefters (Sora ST-3300)?

  2. Calipers to look at: The old Shimano mid-reach calipers (BR-R600, BR-R650, BR-R450, BR-R451). Velo Orange Grand Cru. Dia-Compe BRS-101. TRP RG957.
