Don’t have exactly same model but AL1 with hydr brakes. Great do-it-all bike, riding it through snow with 650b 2,2” wide tires at the moment and swap faster tires for gravel season. 2000km so far and all good. Seat may not be for all but That’s easy to change.

I have had my ST for almost 6 years now and I’ve taken her everywhere. The AL frame is lighter and has a different design in the rear fork, but I would say all in all they are pretty close. Go for it, but if you are planning on take her for long rides, get a saddle with gel inserts, like SMP gel or Selle Italia endurance, cause that one will make your ass soar (I had the very same one)

I also had mechanical discs first and told myself that they are fine and good enough.
A while ago I got my new bike with hydraulics and it‘s just something else.
So I will just say save up a little bit more money and buy a bike with hydraulics. It‘ll be worth it in terms of braking performance and it‘s also cheaper than upgrading mechanical discs later.
