At that much you’re probably too long to begin with. However, if you have 2 or 4 seated and 2 not in a pattern than you have the lacing wrong on the non-drive side. You either need to reverse the directions of the non-drive spokes or move them all over one hole. Remember, the holes on the flanges are offset from the other side to allow the spokes to line up as they move around the rim, lacing backwards on the non-drive will leave you off by a lot.

  2. Those nipples aren’t even close to tightened. If they were, the spokes would be visible in the back end.

Either there is an error in your lacing pattern, or something is wrong with the nipple / spoke threading. Did you mix and match nipples?

(If the issue were just too long spokes, as everyone else is saying, the spokes would be protruding through the nipples and the nipples would still be sticking out like this. Your spokes could be too long as well, but that’s not clear from these photos)

How did you calculate your spoke length? It seems your spoke are to long

  4. IMHO, the hardest part of wheel building is measuring for and ordering the correct spoke lengths.

I take measurements of my hubs and rims multiple times and run them through multiple calculators until they converge. I’ve only built a handful of wheels but this is definitely the hardest part.

From your post, it looks like you ordered “spokes for 26 inch wheels”. I hate to say it, but that’s not a thing. They may have come from a 26 inch wheel but that doesn’t mean they’ll fit your rim, hub, and lacing combo.

I suggest you take these parts to a reputable local wheel builder to finish this project or find a pre built wheel.

looks like you’ve got the wrong length spokes.. they’re sold in every length imaginable to tailor for hub flange, rim depth and lacing patterns… what spoke length calculator did you use? I’d check those calculations and try again!
