Acquired a Specialized Rockhopper today — I'm fairly sure it's a 2008 model, it looks identical to this one:

I'm pretty much a total novice to wrenching on bikes, but I've been repairing my own motor vehicles for 25 years, so I'm competent in that regard.
Anyway I'm thinking I'm just going to try and service everything on the bike that I can, and per the documentation from Specialized, it looks like this should have a BB-ES25 in it, 68*126mm and something about 50mm chainstay. I just have two questions:
What tools do I need to achieve this? I think just a pedal wrench and "bottom bracket tool" but I'm not sure which one.
Should I just get replacement bearings (which ones?) or should I upgrade the whole thing, and if so what is compatible? I don't want to upgrade the crank or anything, and I'm pretty sure everything is original.
Much obliged for any help, I can provide pics if that helps at all.

I think Park Tool CCP-44 should be the right tool for the bottom bracket.
